Our journey started in 1954, with company founder, Francesco Barilla, originally trading as F. Barilla & Sons. Francesco built a trusted family company, through the delivery of exceptional service in the green grocer and fresh produce markets sector. Francesco saw an opportunity to repurpose food waste into compost and fertiliser.

Today, Speedie Waste & Recycle remains an Australian family owned and operated service, with the legacy of the late Francesco Barilla continuing through his sons and grandchildren. It has also expanded its services to cater for the wider business sector, and still ensuring sustainable waste management and care of our environment.
