Comingle waste is recyclable packaging from our everyday containers made of glass, paper, steel, aluminium and rigid plastics. We can even recycle clean foil (scrunch it up into a ball).

Our comingle trucks take your comingle waste to a Materials Recovery Facility,  where it is sorted into various streams and turned into new products and materials.

What you can do?

Comingled recycling bins are an effective way to participate in our resource recovery program. Separating materials such as plastic bottles, glass jars, cardboard boxes and aluminium cans from your general waste bin will ensure these items are recycled into reusable materials.

 

It is a win-win for all. Not only do these bins help you to reduce your costs associated with general waste removal, you are diverting waste from landfill and contributing to our circular economy of recycling and also repurposing. We partner with accredited recycling facilities to ensure materials are recycled and processed properly, and diverted from landfill.

Prohibited Items in your Comingle Recycling Bin:

• Food items 

• General waste items

• Plastic bags

• Take away coffee cups

• Disposal nappies

• Polystyrene

• Broken glassware and crockery 

• E-Waste (incl. laptops, batteries, phones, chargers, toasters, kettles, etc)

• *Hazardous materials and dangerous goods

* Hazardous Materials - Aerosol Cans, Tyres, Batteries, Asbestos, Chemicals of any kind, Oil Heaters, Gas Bottles, Fire Extinguishers, Old Insulation, Fibro, Fibreglass roof sheeting, Fibro-cement sheeting, Ammunition, Flares, Paint, Paint Related Products, Other Prescribed or Hazardous Wastes, Bio Wastes or any Liquid or Flammable Waste like Fuel and Oil, Poisons, or any other Liquid Waste.

*Dangerous Goods - Unless explicitly allowed, Dangerous Goods include Explosive Substances and Articles, Gases, Flammable Liquids and Solids, Self-Reactive Substances and Solid Desensitized Explosives, Substances liable to spontaneous combustion, substances which, in contact with Water, emit Flammable and/or Toxic Gases, Oxidizing Substances, Organic Peroxides, Toxic Substances, Infectious Substances, Radioactive Material, Corrosive Substances, Miscellaneous Dangerous Substances and Articles.
